I’ve been watching John Wayne movies this week.
I’ve watched Rio Bravo, Red River, Big Jake, Chisum, The Searchers and The Shootist.
My dad was a big fan of The Duke, so I grew up watching his movies; the westerns were my favourites.
They used to say he couldn’t act, but I think he gave a number of great performances. He was superb in The Searchers, and also in his final film The Shootist.
They are not westerns, but Donovan’s Reef and The Quiet Man are also very entertaining movies.
